Sewing

So I have started to take up sewing. My parents got me a sewing machine for my birthday last year and I have completed my first project. I have taken one class and hopefully I will take a few more. My first project was a pot holder. I know that sounds rather simple but this was a fancy pot holder and took a lot of sewing and required putting a binding on the edges. I made two of them and the second one turned out a lot better than the first. I kept the first one for myself and gave the second one to my mother-in-law for Valentine's Day. Here are some pictures so you can see what it was like. Hopefully there will be many more projects to come.

This is the pot holder in action
This is a close up...you can see one of the pockets and the back of the pot holder

This is the top side...the pot holder has two pockets on it so you can put each hand in when taking something out of the oven

My mom and I at work. She taught me how to make it and she made a few of her own. Don't mind the mess in front of us.
